Great little iPhone SIP App that works with my Allworx

I was just checking for a SIP app on iTunes and

found “Fring”. It is a free SIP phone application and it works great with my Allworx VoIP system. I have my Fring setup with three

different options for dialing out: SIP, Cellular, or Skype Out.

I have my “call routes” in the allworx setup to ring my desk phone, an allworx 9224, and my SIP

iPhone

In addition to SIP and Skype. Fring has six additional options:

MSN Messenger

ICQ (chat only)

Google Talk

Twitter (chat only)

Yahoo (chat only)

AIM (chat only)

How to setup Allworx and Fring to work together

In your allworx build an extension, then go to handsets and assigned a generic SIP

phone. In handset modify the user to the extension you built, note the login ID and change the password to match the login ID.

Then open Fring on your iPhone and select the more button, then select add-ons, select the SIP option.

Now use your login and password from Allworx handset that you built. The last step is to enter your IP address and select go.

Open Fring dial a number and hit the SIP button.
